Water-Electric Consultant

Description of Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Permitting, FERC Licensing, Legal Testimony, and other consulting of Traditional and Nuclear Power Plants
  • Power Contract, Acquisition and Merger Consultation
  • Cost of Service Studies, System Audits, Distribution and Sustention design and Hydro Power Studies
  • Conduct in Hydrologic Modeling, Yield Analysis, and Assistance with Water Permitting Issues
  • Geographical Information System Development/Maintenance
  • Assist with Plant Siting, Generating Resource Selection, Construction and Operations
  • Provide legal testimony and consulting to Traditional and Nuclear Power Plants
  • Provide water resources policy consulting and possible legal testimony.
  • Conduct fuel price forecasting
  • Conduct resource selection
  • Conduct load and demand forecasting
  • Industry related programs associated with GIS, Scheduling, Hydraulic/Hydrologic Modeling and/or Power Supply modeling

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Advanced Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field required
  • EIT or PE preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years engineering related experience
  • Willing to travel to client sites as required (<20%)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proven success at client development, marketing and business development
  • Confident, self-starter, motivated to develop practice area expertise and client base
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-discipline project team as project requirements dictate
  • Computer literacy including Word, Excel and industry related design programs
  • Electric Utility Engineering related experience preferred
