Guernsey Serves as On-Call Consultant to NATO

OKLAHOMA CITY - C. H. Guernsey & Company is serving as the security consultant to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) during the preliminary design phase of its new headquarters building in Brussels, Belgium.

The International Union of Architecture is nearing completion of a design competition for the new NATO building. During the selection process, security-related cost issues were a serious concern among the selection panel members. C. H. Guernsey & Company's Security Consulting Group, led by Randy Nason, received a phone call on a Friday morning from the panel and was on site the following Monday to begin assessing the security issues of the design entries.

“We were well prepared for the project,” explained Nason. “We recently completed the development of a security cost estimating template for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that contained all of the components needed for the NATO facility. The template was flexible to adjust to the different cost structures used by European security firms as determined in discussions with our European security industry contacts. GUERNSEY was able to provide a firm budget estimate by the end of the week followed by a formal report.”
