Recent Guernsey Projects Renew and Revitalize

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two C. H. Guernsey & Company (Guernsey) projects are renewing and revitalizing areas in Oklahoma and Texas.

The Oklahoma City based firm recently completed the $39 million renovation design of Ft. Sill Building 5955 Barracks and Dining area, known more commonly as the Starship Barracks.

The Starship Barracks renovation helps support the military’s mission by providing a new interior and exterior changes to the over 250,000 square feet building.

Interior changes include the complete removal and replacement of the building’s main mechanical, plumbing and electrical infrastructures, asbestos/lead base paint removal, life safety upgrades, energy regulations upgrade, fifteen new classrooms and a complete renovation of the existing dining facility within the building.

The exterior work will include the replacement of all exterior windows to meet current Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection design standards.

El Paso Courthouse RenderingIn Texas, Guernsey is assuming the management and inspection services under the General Services Administration for the new El Paso Courthouse. The new 266,000 square foot Federal Courthouse will cost $75 million to construct. The eight-story structure will house eleven courtrooms, U.S. Marshal offices and Federal Court Clerk offices.
