Guernsey to design military project

OKLAHOMA CITY – C.H. Guernsey & Co. and W. G. Yates & Sons Construction have received a contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District to design and build seven dormitory buildings and two dining facilities at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.

A typical dormitory building will be 162,061 square feet and four stories, with facilities for 600 students in 300 units. Each dormitory will have 12 staff members working in shifts.

As part of the project, Guernsey will also design parking lots, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court and a picnic area. The first dorm is expected to be completed by August.

Guernsey is based in Oklahoma City with offices in Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, New Mexico, Texas and Washington, D.C.
