Guernsey Wins Regional Landscape Architecture Award

OKLAHOMA CITY –- C. H. Guernsey & Company’s Landscape Architecture group has been selected to receive an American Society of Landscape Architects(ASLA) - Central States’ Design Merit Award for their Meridian Landing Promenade project.
The group had previously won the 2009 Honor Award from the Oklahoma Chapter of ASLA.
Guernsey is working with Oklahoma City’s Public Works, Parks and Planning departments to design over $1.3 million in site improvements of the public realm between three Meridian hotel sites and the Oklahoma River. The project includes landscape, hardscape, bank stabilization, permitting and upgrades to the public trail. The design features a large public plaza and sculpture.
“We are honored to share this recognition with the City of Oklahoma City and look forward to seeing the design become reality,” said Kelly Coffman, Landscape Architect for Guernsey.
The Central States ASLA Awards recognize achievement in five categories; Design (Built), Design (Un-built), Planning and Analysis, Research, and Communication. This project was selected for the Design (Un-built) Design Merit Award. The Central States include Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas and Oklahoma.
