The Oklahoma State Office of the USDA – NRCS awarded C.H. Guernsey & Company (GUERNSEY) and its teaming partner Golder Associates, Inc. (Golder) an Indefinite Delivery and Indefinite Quantity Contract to perform Engineering Designs for Water Resources Projects in Oklahoma. This contract was for a base year and three option years. The purpose of this contract was to perform surveys, designs and construction quality assurance for various water resources projects within Oklahoma. Design work included preparation of construction plans and specifications, land rights work maps, cost estimates, bid schedules, quantifying calculations and design folders for water resources projects. Projects primarily involved the rehabilitation of floodwater retarding dams.
NRCS design guides and computer models were used to analyze the hydrologic and hydraulic features of the watersheds and foundations and drainage features of the facilities.
The GUERNSEY team was assigned a delivery order that included engineering design of improvements to Floodwater Retarding Dams 2 and 3 in the Doublecreek Watershed, near Ramona, Oklahoma.
