Historic preservation and continuity between buildings is a consideration on every project. GUERNSEY considers historic preservation a responsibility and in some cases have utilized specialized historic preservation consultants where warranted. Several GUERNSEY projects have involved buildings of historic significance or building sites located in historic districts or archeological sites. The protection and revitalization of these historic structures and neighborhoods becomes a primary design objective in the development of these projects.

GUERNSEY recently received a Citation of Merit from the Oklahoma Historical Society for restoration work on the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Lawton, OK. In 1998, we were awarded the Shirk Memorial Award for Historic Preservation for our work on GSA-owned properties under our current GSA open-end contract.

From courtroom restorations to the rehabilitation of historic laboratories, hangars, factories and office buildings, GUERNSEY enhances the growth and progress of our community through responsible historic preservation. We approach the utilization of our historic resources with respect and commitment. Appropriate treatment of historic resources are handled in a team setting - utilizing the expertise of our clients, our consultants, state SHPO representatives, private citizen groups and federal, state, tribal and local government entities. We find the right solution for the situation whether it be adaptive reuse, rehabilitation or complete restoration.
