Special Contract Development and Negotiation – GUERNSEY’s clients deal frequently with new commercial and industrial customers seeking electric service. GUERNSEY works closely with the staff and the customer to determine the specific needs of the customer’s load in terms of physical plant investment and power supply. The development of a special contract rate which appropriately recovers the wholesale costs of providing service as well as the distribution costs is essential. Understanding the cooperative’s or municipal systems operations and costs of service allows GUERNSEY staff the ability to develop rate structures which best meet those requirements.

Key Account Service – Large commercial and industrial customers often require a level of customer service beyond that needed for other customers. These customers often have issues involving power quality, load management, interruptible capability and reliability. Other issues such as margin requirement and cost of service may also be a concern of large key accounts. GUERNSEY’s rate consultants and engineers work with these issues routinely and are often called upon to interact directly with customers to develop a solution.
