Utility Security

Utility SecurityThe term critical infrastructure is aptly applied to the nation’s electric utility system. No other distributed supply system is as essential to our day to day activities as well as our long term economic growth and prosperity.

With hurricanes, tornadoes, and ice as the foremost threats, redundant system designs were developed to provide alternate paths and sources. Reliability is still the key metric but the threats have expanded. The adversary knows well the key to weakening us as a nation is to attack us both economically and socially. Loss of significant portions of our electric supply would accomplish both. Effective and proactive security measures are now required to assure continued system reliability.

Since the mid '90s, GUERNSEY has been involved in critical infrastructure security. Our approach is grounded in a clear understanding of security and engineering principles as well as more than 75 years experience in the electric utility industry. This uniquely qualifies us to be your partner as you move toward a stronger security program. Some of our thoughts are outlined in the article below. Please take a minute and read it. We welcome your feedback.
